Canoochee Sandhills WMA is located in Bulloch and Bryan Counties near Groveland, GA. This 6,324-acre WMA consists of a mix of sandhill, flatwoods, bay swamp, and floodplain forests that border Lotts Creek. Many of the sandy uplands on the area are remnants of ancient wind-blown river dune formations and provide important habitat for gopher tortoises and other animal and plant species considered high priorities for conservation.
Coastal Plains in Georgia
The Paradise Archery Range, which opened Sept. 3, 2018, is located on Paradise PFA in Berrien County. It is a static range featuring five lanes from 10–50 yards in length.
Lanahassee Creek WMA is in the coastal plains of Georgia and covers 4364 acres. This WMA offers hunting opportunities for quality bucks, turkey, small game, and quail.
The Pinetucky Gun Club Shooting Range is located in Richmond County. Established in 1986, Pinetucky is one of the most complete sport shooting facilities in the Southeast, if not the country. This range is made possible by a partnership with Pinetucky Gun Club Shooting Range and the Georgia DNR's Wildlife Resources Division.
The Mike Commander Archery Range is located on Chickasawhatchee Wildlife Management Area in Dougherty County.
The Georgia Veterans Air Rifle Range is located in Georgia Veterans State Park & Resort in Cris County. The range is available for rental for private events. The range does not rent out equipment except for events, lessons and clinics. Children must be under parental supervision at all times.
The Georgia Veterans Archery Range is located in Georgia Veterans State Park & Resort in Crisp County. The range is available for rental for private events. The range does not rent out equipment except for events, lessons and clinic. Children must be under parental supervision at all times. Arrows with field tips are permitted.
Collins Road VPA is a 354-acre area that will provide both rabbit and bird dog training opportunities.
Hunt Dates & Information:
Rogers State Prison Farm Dove Fields is a 538-acre property near Reidsville. This area is open for dove hunting the first three Saturdays of dove season. No ATVs or UTVs allowed on the fields. Hunting is prohibited within 100 yards of a residence or 50 yards from county roads. This dove field is only open during quota hunt dates.
From Reidsville: Take GA Highway 147 approximately 6.5 miles to intersection with Highway 178. Turn left on Highway 178 and go 1.5 miles to dirt road on the right that leads to entrance of Field 1 and the parking area.
