Hunting
The purpose of hunting regulations is to manage Georgia’s game resources according to sound principles of wildlife management and to meet public objectives for use of these renewable natural resources. Hunters and other interested persons are encouraged to provide input regarding proposed changes to hunting regulations.
Fluorescent Pink Proposed Amendment (PDF)
- Proposed Changes: Changes to the existing rules are responsive to the passage of House Bill 167, which authorized fluorescent pink hunting outer garments.
- Public Input: The public may submit comments on these proposed amendments by email (gm.comments@dnr.ga.gov), by telephone (706-557-3350) or by submitting written statements. Deadline to provide comments is July 25, 2025.
Fishing
No regulations are proposed currently.
Wildlife Conservation
Changes proposed for Georgia’s “Bird Island Rule” (O.C.G.A. 391-4-7.03) are focused on providing greater protection for seabirds and shorebirds. The amendments to Rule 391-4-7.03 are needed to include islands accreted or created since the rule was passed in 1998 and to help better shield sites when they are being used for nesting, foraging and roosting. The public is encouraged to provide comments regarding the changes.
