Charles B. Henson VPA is a partnership between the Southeastern Cave Conservancy International (SCCi) and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division to provide hunting opportunities on land originally purchased for the express purpose of protecting cave environments. Access to this land via the VPA agreement is for hunting opportunities only. For deer hunting, weapons are limited to archery only.  All other activities such as hiking, fishing, or caving is strictly managed by the SCCi. This land has many private property inholdings, so please be respectful of private property while enjoying this hunting opportunity.

Voluntary Public Access Area 

Charles B. Henson VPA is a Voluntary Public Access (VPA) property. Since 2014, the Wildlife Resources Division has been able to enhance and add to its WMA program through additional temporary agreements with private landowners for public hunting opportunities thanks to a USDA grant.

From Trenton, take Hwy 136 east about 8 miles to S. Moore Rd. Turn right (south) and go 0.7 miles to 4-way intersection. Continue straight on Newsome Gap Rd. Go 3 miles to kiosk.
