Paddling - Stephen C. Foster State Park

Victoria Bryant Logo

Stephen C. Foster State Park is in the heart of the Okefenokee Swamp. From our dock / boat ramp on Jones Island, paddlers can explore over 15 miles of day-use trails.

Billy’s Island is located 2 miles from our boat ramp and is only accessible by water. From a small dock, guests can access a 1-mile trail loop that passes a thousand-year-old Weeden Island Culture mound, remnants of the logging industry, and a small pioneer cemetery.

Canoe/Kayak rentals are first come, first served. However, overnight canoes can be reserved in advance by those with permits from the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. This wilderness permit must be shown upon arrival.

Visitors using personal vessels are required to register at the trading post or boat ramp.
