Fishing - Reed Bingham State Park

Fishing is available in 375-acre Reed Bingham State Park Lake (an impoundment on the Little River, a tributary of the Withlacoochee River). Possible catches include largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, shellcrackers, warmouth perch and channel catfish. With tannic water that has a brown tint, the lake has a reputation as being a tough place to fish, though it has a good population of bass. Knowing how to target weed beds can be productive. Boaters can also navigate three miles up the river to Red Roberts Boat Landing at the Roundtree Road Bridge. Cypress and tupelo trees offer plenty of cover for fish. Larger bass can be caught in deeper water near the dam. Hotspots for catfish and panfish are in the upper end where there is lots of cover. There are two boat ramps, a fishing pier and plenty of bank fishing. A footbridge leads to a small island popular with anglers. Bait and tackle are for sale at the park office.
