Fishing - Fort McAllister State Park

Located on the banks of the Ogeechee, the park offers access to this river and Redbird Creek. Anglers have the possibility of tangling with any of Georgia’s inshore saltwater species, such as redfish, seatrout, flounder, black drum and sheepshead. Fishing is best accessed by boat. Both waters have boat ramps, though the one in the campground on Redbird Creek is for use by registered campers only. Limited shore access is for campers on the fishing pier in the campground or for day-use guests on the pier on the Ogeechee River. Bait is available at Fort McAllister Marina (Fishtales), less than a mile away. Swimming is not allowed and a $5 ParkPass is required. (Information provided by OnTheFlySouth.com.)
