The West Point Shooting Range is located on West Point Wildlife Management Area in Troup County.
Directions: From LaGrange, take GA Hwy 219 North. 1 mile north of the Chattahoochee River Bridge, turn right at the range sign.
West Point Wildlife Management Area is a 8,952 acre property located in Troup County. This WMA offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, dove and waterfowl. No gasoline outboards allowed on waterfowl impoundments and no fishing on managed waterfowl impoundments.
The Dixie Creek Area is 711 acres with hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game and waterfowl. The Glover's Creek Area is 337 acres open for deer and waterfowl hunting.
Walton Wildlife Management Area is a 200-acre, state-owned complex of scattered crop fields, fallow fields, and wooded areas. The primary focus is dove field management and a variety of crops such as wheat, millet, sunflowers, and grain sorghum, which are annually planted to attract doves and other wildlife. The area also offers archery deer hunting and other small game hunting. Only shotguns may be used for small game hunting.
Sprewell Bluff Wildlife Management Area: West is located in Thomaston. Located west of the Flint River, this WMA offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game. Camping is only allowed in designated areas.
Sprewell Bluff Wildlife Management Area: East is located in Thomaston. Located east of the Flint River, this WMA offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game. No hunting in the day-use park area and no camping allowed on the property.
