EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA (Region 3)
- Tuckahoe WMA : The swamp at Tuckahoe is currently flooded (Nov 12, 2015), making up to 3/4 of the area inaccessible. Staff hopes it will drain prior to November sign-in deer hunt (Nov. 27-Dec. 5), but this depends on rainfall and how much water is released upstream by Corps of Engineers.
WEST CENTRAL GEORGIA (Region 4)
Oaky Woods WMA : The gate to the road that goes down to the river on Oaky Woods WMA will be closed (beginning Nov. 10, 2015) due to rising river levels.
Ocmulgee WMA : Please note-Westlake Road and the dirt part of Albert Jenkins Road going to Ocmulgee WMA are treacherous. Use caution on these roads and be sure you have a plan in the event you get stuck!
SOUTHWEST GEORGIA (Region 5)
- Chickasawhatchee WMA : Due to excess rainfall followed by creek flooding, many roads on this WMA are impassable (areas most impacted include Pine Island, 7 Bridges, and Flat Loop). Hunters are asked to use caution and should not attempt to drive through flooded areas of the roads.
- Bridges formerly available on this WMA are currently closed (includes bridges on Seven Bridges Road and Flat Loop Road). Alternative routes have been established. Please see linked map for details.
- Due to heavy rains and flooding, Pine Island West Road is closed beyond the shooting range to the Dunlott Road gate. The shooting range will remain open and accessible.
Elmodel WMA : Bridge formerly available on this WMA is currently closed. Alternative routes have been established. Please see linked map for details.
Mayhaw WMA : Due to excess rainfall followed by creek flooding, many roads on this WMA are impassable. Hunters are asked to use caution and should not attempt to drive through flooded areas of the roads.
SOUTHEAST GEORGIA (Region 6)
Due to military training needs on the federally owned portion (Hwy. 221 tract) of Grand Bay WMA, that section will be closed to public access on the following dates:2015-16 ;
In addition to the dates linked in previous paragraph, hunting on the federally owned portion of Grand Bay WMA will be closed on the following 2015 dates: Oct. 24-25; Oct. 31-Nov. 1, Nov. 7-8 and Nov. 14-15 (tentatively closed).
