Stop by the Go Fish Education Center’s gift shop and reel in a 10 percent discount on your purchases just by saying “Go Fish!” at the cash register on Friday, Dec. 23.
Located at 1255 Perry Parkway, Perry, the gift shop offers a range of ideas for the whole family including Shakespeare Ugly Stik fishing rods, spinning and spincast reels, fishing tools and other gear, Disney Princess and Spiderman kids’ fishing rods, wildlife and outdoor-related books, posters and toys; shirts and hats; fishing décor, collectibles and treats; and more.
Another gift idea is Go Fish Education Center passes as a gift (discount does not apply to passes). Passes are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for kids ages 3-12. A visit to the center includes viewing freshwater aquariums with 70 species of fish and other aquatic wildlife such as alligators, testing your skills on fishing and shooting simulators and casting a line at the newly-opened fishing pond as well as many other interactive exhibits. Anglers 16 or older will need a fishing license for the pond, which is available to purchase on site if needed.
The center is closed on Dec. 24-26, and reopens for special holiday week hours Tuesday, Dec. 27 through Saturday, Dec. 31, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed New Year’s Day. Regular hours are Fridays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays 1 to 5 p.m. The center is located at 1255 Perry Pkwy., Perry, adjacent to the Georgia National Fairgrounds off I-75.
