Fish From Private Suppliers

There are many reputable private fish hatcheries and dealers who can provide fish for private ponds. Dealers are listed alphabetically by county.

Fish From DNR Hatcheries

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources' Wildlife Resources Division, Fisheries Management Section annually provides largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, and channel catfish from seven state fish hatcheries to stock new or renovated private ponds. There is a nominal fee charged in order to provide this service.

Download the appropriate Pond Stocking Application form (see below) by selecting the county where your pond is located. Complete and mail the application to the GA DNR Fisheries Section Office indicated on the application.  Do not include payment with your application.  You will be contacted by WRD regarding when to pick up your requested fish and the cost.  Payment is to be made upon fish pick-up (checks should be made out to Georgia DNR, cash is not accepted).
