Freshwater Fishing Publications

Take Me Fishing!

Fishing is an activity that often is passed on from generation to generation. Make fishing a part of your family tradition so you always will have something in common!

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) wants to help. These guides are designed to help you get ready to go fishing and to easily find the perfect spot, whether you are making an outing for the day or going on an excursion with your friends.

The Northeast Georgia guide was first developed by WRD staff in the spring of 2004 as a special newspaper insert for the Gainesville area. It appeared in selected papers the weekend of May 28, 2004. It was revised in 2005. That first guide was so successful that a companion Northwest Georgia guide was developed in 2005.

These guides are presented in PDF format (they are 12 pages and around 1.15MB each). Adobe Acrobat Reader required.
