Public Service Commissioner to speak on state's energy future

Public Service Commissioner

Georgia Public Service Commissioner Tim Echols will discuss the state's energy future at a lunch-and-learn meeting at noon Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Coastal Regional Headquarters, One Conservation Way, Brunswick, GA 31520, in the Susan Shipman Learning Building.

Echols has owned three electric vehicles, put solar thermal on his Athens home and helped set policy that has resulted in Georgia becoming one of the top 10 states for solar deployment on the electrical grid. He is a clean energy expert and serves on the statewide elected Public Service Commission. He also hosts a radio show "Energy Matters" on Cox Media Group.

He set a goal of becoming a statewide elected official from a young age and after building a national nonprofit organization, he was elected to the Public Service Commission in 2010. On the commission, his primary job is energy regulation.

This presentation is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to bring their lunch. For more information, contact Kelly Hill at 912-264-7218.
