Public Hearings Scheduled Regarding Changes in Fishing Regulations

SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. (7/1/2013)

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division is proposing three changes regarding fishing regulations. 

Changes include removal of a seasonal restriction for fishing around marked areas at three springs in Lake Blackshear, removal of the current slot limit for largemouth bass from Bear Creek Reservoir in Jackson County, and implementing a new slot length limit for largemouth bass on Lake Lindsay Grace in Wayne County.  

The Department has scheduled three public hearings to provide the public an opportunity to offer input on these proposed changes.  Those interested are encouraged to bring these meetings to the attention of others that also may be interesting in participating.  All hearings will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Anyone attending the meeting is welcome to provide statements or comments, either orally or in writing. Statements should be concise to permit everyone an opportunity to speak. Participants should register upon arrival and notify the registering official of their intent to give a statement. 

Those unable to attend a meeting may submit input electronically at www.gofishgeorgia.com/fishing/proposedregulations or in writing by July 30, 2013.  Written statements should be mailed to:
