The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division is considering changes to the ferry fee structure for certain guests.  A modest rate increase is being considered to address increased operational costs and maintaining fiduciary responsibilities.

A public meeting is scheduled to provide the public an opportunity to submit input for consideration in the development of proposed amendments to the Sapelo Island Access and Transportation Rules, relating to fee schedules for paying guests (e.g., private tour participants, overnight guests, day-use visitors, and private contractors) and department guests (e.g., SINERR tours, Reynolds Mansion guests, WMA quota hunt participants, Cabretta campground guests).

The public meeting will be held on November 8, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Senior Citizens Center on Sapelo Island.  Interested persons are encouraged to attend.  Interested persons unable to attend the public meeting may submit input for consideration by mail, telephone or electronicallyThe deadline for submitting input is November 30, 2012
