Georgia DNR Offers Subscription Services for Wildlife, Parks and Coastal Information

ATLANTA, Ga. (3/1/2012)

Get more information, more often from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources! As a way to make information more accessible, three of the DNR’s divisions -- Coastal Resources, State Parks & Historic Sites and Wildlife Resources -- have added email and digital subscription management to their websites to keep Georgians up-to-date on news and information.

Whether you’re interested in fishing, hunting, wildlife watching, camping, hiking, conservation or the outdoors in general, this service has something for you. The public can subscribe to topics of interest and receive instant, automated email or wireless notification. It’s easy to use -- with a few clicks, Georgians are signed up to learn more about news announcements, advisories, openings and closures, e-newsletters, seasonal alerts and more. Subscription options include:

  • Beach Swimming Advisories
  • Georgia Sound e-newsletter from Coastal Resources
  • State Parks Accommodations and Discounts
  • State Parks & Historic Sites e-newsletter
  • Public Fishing Area and Wildlife Management Area alerts
  • Georgia Wild conservation e-newsletter from Wildlife Resources
  • And many others

The new service will help subscribers stay better informed and save time by receiving the outdoors information they want and need immediately. In addition, the service allows Georgia DNR to communicate more effectively with hunters, anglers and others, and reduces paper use and delivery costs by sending information digitally instead of on paper.
