The Georgia Deer Registry is a program of the Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD), Game Management Section to recognize and maintain records of quality deer taken by hunters in Georgia. While the quality of a deer can be applied many ways, the Registry utilizes the Boone & Crockett measuring system with revised minimum scores.

Over the years, Georgia has become renowned for its deer management and deer hunting opportunities; with many deer taken that exhibit antlers of superior quality and size. Establishment of the Georgia Deer Registry in no way implies that deer hunting should focus on trophy hunting; however, many hunters dream of someday bagging a quality buck. For those fortunate enough to accomplish such a task, the Registry will provide the means to recognize this accomplishment.

Hunters who have a deer accepted by the Georgia Registry can receive a frameable Georgia Deer Registry certificate and will have their record information added to the database.
