WRD Opens Comment Period on Proposed Walleye Regulation Changes
Last spring, the Wildlife Resources Division conducted public scoping efforts to determine if Georgians would support adjusting the walleye creel and possession limit at Lake Blue Ridge from fifteen (15) to the statewide limit of eight (8).
Based on the results of the public scoping effort and prior research, the Wildlife Resources Division has proposed this regulation change to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Board and will open a comment period on July 1, 2016 to run thru July 31, 2016.
During the comment period (July 1-31, 2016), interested individuals and parties can comment by attending the scheduled public hearing (see info below) or by submitting verbal or written comment as specified below:
All comments must be provided by July 31, 2016.
July 14, 2016; 7:00 PM
Fannin County Chamber of Commerce: Welcome Center

The WRD will review and consider all comments received during the comment period and make a final recommendation to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Board at its August 2016 meeting.
If approved, WRD expects the proposed change to become effective in 2016.
