Public Scoping Opportunity: Public Asked to Share Opinions on Trout Stream Season
The Wildlife Resources Division is reviewing trout stream seasons in Georgia and is seeking public input.
Public scoping is the first step in the regulation change process. WRD has solicited input through meetings with stakeholders, two public meetings in Gainesville and Cartersville, and an online survey of trout anglers who provided email addresses when they bought their licenses.
If you have not yet had the opportunity to comment and would like to do so, we are collecting responses at the Gainesville Fisheries Management Office.
Please provide comment before December 10, 2014 by one of the following methods:
WRD will review and consider all comments received during the public scoping period. If the majority would like to see a change in the trout season, WRD will request that the Georgia DNR Board of Natural Resources consider the proposal.
If the Board decides to consider the recommended changes, the public will be notified and provided an opportunity to comment before final action is taken. If approved, WRD expects that changes to Georgia’s trout season would become effective in 2015.
