Waterfowl Hunting & Management

Introduction

Georgia has many types of waterfowl hunting opportunity.  Hunters can pursue diving ducks on large reservoirs or dabbling ducks on managed impoundments and beaver swamps.  Georgia's most abundant duck, the wood duck, can be found along rivers, in flooded swamps, or on impoundments throughout the entire state.  The areas listed can provide waterfowl hunting opportunity, but, as with all hunting endeavors, hunters are not guaranteed success on any of these sites.  Many of these areas have special regulations concerning waterfowl hunting, please refer to the current "Georgia Hunting Seasons and Regulations Booklet" or the current "Late Season Georgia Migratory Bird Regulations" for additional information.
